Before the operation, the treatment area will be cleaned. Some patients are given numbing cream to apply. Numbing the area helps when a small area needs to be treated and the skin is particularly sensitive. Between 30 and 60 minutes pass before a numbing gel begins to take effect. The laser treatment will be performed in a room created specifically for laser procedures. Everyone in the room is obliged to wear safety glasses throughout the procedure. Throughout the procedure, the skin is kept taut while receiving laser treatment. The feeling of the laser pulses is frequently compared by patients to warm pinpricks or the snap of a rubber band.
